TAHS Programs

The Toledo Area Humane Society offers a variety of programs to help us stay connected and involved with our amazing community!

Child Enrichment Programs

The Toledo Area Humane Society offers a wide variety of exciting opportunities for children to be involved with the animals at our shelter! We have camps throughout the year, host field trips and scout outings. We even have birthday parties for young animal lovers!

Volunteer Department

The Toledo Area Humane Society has over 450 active volunteers at any time! Our amazing group of volunteers generously donates about 65,000 hours each year in a variety of different ways. Our volunteers can walk dogs, cuddle cats, help with special events, assist with camps, and so much more!

Foster Parenting

The Toledo Area Humane Society is always looking to grow our foster program for animals in need of extra care or time before they can go up for adoption. Whether it is because they are too young or recovering from an injury, some animals need to have a stay with a foster parent!

Barn Cat Program

The Toledo Area Humane Society is proud to offer a very unique program for felines who are less than friendly! Feral cats are typically self sufficient and enjoy living outside. TAHS is happy to spay/neuter feral cats and place in barns so that they have a job, shelter, and food and water, but still can enjoy life outdoors. Need a barn cat?

HARP Program

The Hope and Recovery Pet (HARP) Program is a unique collaborative effort between ProMedica, the Toledo Area Humane Society, and the University of Toledo.  HARP connects adults referred by area mental health providers with companion animals from TAHS to improve the lives of both.
